Tlie agreement arrived at was that a inaii might so take charge if lie had iit least two aiid a half yehrs experience in driving, storing, tinibefing or shaft sinking ,or in rises or Winzes, in connection with underground metalliferous mining, together with six moriths experience at the face with an experienced coalminer iii uhdei-groUnd coal mining. I’he report was adopted. The Council rose at 2.34 ji.ilA. and resumed at 3125 p.m. gi r F. Bell moved the secohd reading of the Government Railway Amendment embodying the agreement arrived at by tribunals in regard to the salariesand conditions of Hilway employees. Tho Bill was put through tlie final stages and passed. Tho Shops and Gffices Amendment were also put trough the final stages and passed. The Council rose at 3.35 p.m. until the ringing of tho bell. The Council resumed at 4.30 p.in. aiid adjourned immediately until 11 a.m. on Monday.

THE HOUSE. At tho afternoon sitting of 'the House the following Bills passed final stages:Births and ' Deaths Registration Bill, (Hon Anderson) ; Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Bill (Hon Nosworthy); Hos pitals and Charitable Institutions Amendment Bill (No 2), (Hon Parr); Railways Authorities Rill, (Hon Coates) Greymouthi Harbour Board Amendment Bill (Rt. Hon. Massey); Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Amendment Bill, (Hon Lee). Mr Massey stated that ho hoped to finish tho session on Tuesday. Tho House pose at 5.36 till eleven o’tiock on Monday.
