We regret to record the death of Mrs Freitas, wife of Mr F. Freitas of Arahura Road, which took place yestvday after a long illness. The deceased was a native of Dublin. Ireland and 71 years of age. She-leaves a husband and family of seven sons and four daughters. One son (David) died at the war. The four daughters are Mrs Hooker, Auckland; Mrs J. Fox, Hokitika; Mrs Keening and Mrs Gilellinf 1 of R.eefton. The sons are all well known residents of the district. Mrs J. J. Breeze is a sister and Messrs T. Heenan (Hokitika), and W. Heenan (Wellington) are brothers.

The Gray Harbour Amendment Bill was passed on Saturday.
