Morel, one of the eandi--1 dates for the Central Riding election ! to the Westland County Council, has an 1 address in this issue, soliciting the sup- ! port of the electors of Kanieri, Kokatahi, and Rimu districts. Mr Morel is * a well-known 'settler jin Koite-rangi, 1 and since his residence in that local--1 itv has taken a foremost interest in all local matters and given much’ time 1 to the public service. Mr Morel has been a useful councillor, and with the experience he now possesses of the dis--1 trict and its requirements will be useful to liis constituents if they inolnde him ajmong th|e number elected on Wednesday next. In another column Mr T. R. Chesterman, the well known settler of Kanij ori and'Kokatahi announces liis candidature for County honors at next Wednesday’s poll. Mr Chesterman is one of the four candidates for the three seats to represeht the Central Riding—Kanieri, Kokatahi and Rimu districts. Mr Chesterman lias had occasion to visit various parts of the district frequently, and so is able to keep in close touch with the- requirements of the ratepayers. Mr Chesterman’ has a practical knowledge of works and local conditions, and liis services should be acceptable to the electors on polling day. A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated at Greymouth Presbyterian Church on Thursday morning by the Rev. Cuttle, when Annie, youngest daughter* of Mr and Mrs Joseph Shrives of Greymouth was married to Mr Gardiner Gilbert, second son of tile, late Mr and Mrs Gilbert of Paroa The bride looked charming as she entered the church on the arm of her father, and was attired in a dainty white frock trimmed with lace and insertion. She was also wearing a lemoncoloured hat and carried a shower bouquet. Miss Stenhouse, of Otira, Cousin of the bride) attended as bridesmaid, Being gowned in a cream gabadine costume with green Henderson hat; also carrying a bouquet. Mr Frank Thompson acted as Best man.
