ARMISTICE DAY
, A TWO MINUTES SILENCE. fAUSTRALIAN & N.2. CABLE ASSOCIATION] (Received This Day at 12.20 p.ni.) LONDON, Nov. 1. In the Commons, the Premier announced that two' minutes silence, on the morning of Armistice Day would be observed throughout the Kingdom, work ceasing. This would be intimated if possible, throughout the whole Emw pire. He stated the decision to bury an unknown soldier in Westminster Abbey was made after the fullest discussion with the Admiralty and Air Force. The coffin will be inscribed:— “An unknown warrior,” thus representing all services. armistice day. ' SYDNEY,' November 2. The anniversary of the signing of the .araistide will be observed with religious services. The public are specially requested to cease work and observe silence for two minutes at eleven o’clock.
