Imi MENS ASSOCIATION.—OOPYIUGHT.] FLOOD AT FOXTON. FOXTON, Oct. 30. Floods in the Mamuvatu werb the highest for many years. On the road communicating between Foxton and Shannon the brigo approach was washed away. Dairy farms in Moutoa district had a trying time, with considerable losses in stock and fencing. The flood water is receding. CITY COUNCILLORS DISQUALIFIED. AUCKLAND, Oct. 28. At a meeting of the City Council tonight, the resignations of Councillors A. J, Entrican a)nd E. H. Davies were received and accepted. The resignations are the outcome of the purchase by these councillors, of. sections owned by the Council in Anzac avenue. It was ruled by the Audit Department that this was in contravention of the Munipical Corporations Act, and made Messrs Entrican and Davis ineligible to sit as members of the Council. . In the case of Mr Davis, it is interesting to point out that the purchase of the section in his name was made Ijv his attorneys during his absence on a visit to England. Mr Davis is till away, and his resignation was received by cablegram. GUARD’S DEATH. TAUMARU.NUI, Oct. 29. (Guard William B. Duncan, who fell on the Taumarunui platform yesterday in an apoplectic fit, died in hospital at 9.30 last ’night. His wife arrived by the night express from Auckland, but Duncan was then unconscious. The deceased was 48 years of age, and had one child. CONSOLIDATED FUND FIGURES. WELLINGTON, Oct. 28 The revenue and expenditure figures of the Consolidated Fund for September quarter appear in the Gazette to-night. The ordinary revenue totalled £6,003,808, as compared with £3,707,034 in the correspondong quarter of last year, and the territorial revenue was £83,846, as against £75,831. Permanent appropriations absorbed £2,507,711, and the Departmental expenditure was £4,052,446, as against £2,974,933.
