Recently 1 the representatives of importing firms of other towns had been in Auckland endeavouring to sell various lines but they were disappointed, j Another business man said that the 1 distribution of soldiers’ gratuities last year created a false idea, of the spending power of the people, and that somo of the importations intended for this year’s Christmas demand have been based on this false standard.
