Following the sensational arrest a week ago of two railway guards, Charles Alexander Travis and John George Murray from whose houses express loads of allegedly stolen goods were removed after a search, a series of charges were brought against each to-day before Mr Mosley S.M. Travis was charged with theft from the Railway Department of a parcel of boots, a quantity of camisoles, four overcoats, a box of raisins, a parcel of sweaters, sack of sugar, box of tea, two tennis racquets and boxes of paint of a total value of £4B 12s. Murray was charged with theft of a box of Jives’ fluid, a quantity of drapery and clothing, samples of ladies clothing, a box of tea, a roll of wincoyette, two bags of sugar, and a box of condensed milk of a total value of £6O 12s.

The men were charged conjointly with the theft of a box of butter, men’s clothing, roll of tweed, piece of flannel, two pounds of wool, nine tins of biscuits i and a quantity of clothing of a total I .value of £SO 17s.
