LOCAL GROUP AND CLASSBefore a small hut enthusiastic rrathering in the Overseas Club rooms on Tuesday night, the Hokitika Esperanto Club (the first of its kind in Westland) was formed. Mrs Butler (chair), gave an interesting account of her continental experiences, as well as some instructive facts, relative to the value and progress of Esperanto. There were, she said, more than three millions of Associated Esperantists, while the number of affiliated students would probably number many thousands more. The IJ.E.A. (Switzerland) a commercial and tourist association, had increased its international census from 3,556 in 1909 to 13,760 in 1913. Md Mulrennan dealt mainly with the educational value
