ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, Tips Day. Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale yesterday:— gtcr.'e Sheep—A medium entry, mostly hoggets and ewes and lambs. .All classes ,of sheep were leoidedly 1 easier. Best hoggets to 28/-, a few best eaves helggefcs to 30/-; others from 17'- to 23/-; ewes from 17'- to 23/-; ewes from 17/- to 23!-; inferior lower. to 35/-, others 28/- to 31'The market was dull. Beef—The largest yarding for some considerable time including a good proportion of excellent quality. Owing to the big entry the market was easier all round especially for light and indifferent sorts. As lambs are now coming in freely , beef is not so keenly bought iijfter. Best steers sold f"om £27/10/- to £34; A few extra good £27/10/-; prime £23/15/- to £26/1". -; medium £2O/5/-, to £22/10/-; lighter and graziers £l4 to £lB/15/-. Cows and heifers in the same proportion. Store Cattle—A large entry hut comprised mostly infixed] so.rts. Eivquiij wns dull and market easier all round. Good forward sorts, and fresh young cows were still selling fairly well, best ’3 and 4 years bullocks £ll to £14,T0/-. 2-year steers at £8 to £lO W M.S?* yearlings £3/5/- to £5/5; Good fi esh cows £7 to £9/5/-. One good line of 2-year Hereford heifers realised £6.1 O'Mutton —Another large yarding consisting of more shorn sheen than pveviouisly. The market was easier all round especially for unfinished wether? in wool but at times was as firm as last week. Graziers operating throughout kept the market from collapsing. Best wethers - to from 46/- to >j3/-, a small pen of extra good ones making 72/-; prime 39/6 to 45/6; 'Lighter and inferior 35/- to 38/6. Ewes in same proportion.
