FOOTBALL TEAM STRIKE. LONDON, Aug. 25. Owing to a dispute with the committee of the Salford Northern.. Union Football Club on question of wages, not a single member of the first team has signed on for the season. 'Salford officials have in consequenco been compelled to cancel their match with Barrow on Saturday, the opening day of the Northern Union season. The union authorities have also been notified. The terms offered hv the club are (10s a match for a win away, 50s for a win at home, and 35s for a loss. The players demand 80 s "tor a win, 70s for a draw, and 50s for a loss. The directors on bearing there was discontent promised a bonus of 20 per cent of the profits to be divided among the first team members. That ofFer was refused, and the present deadlock followed.
