COUNTIES BILL.
AN APPROVED PROVISO, : f (Our Parliamentary" Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 15. The provision made in the Now Counties Bill for local bodies to pool separate accounts and so save interest, is so much appreciated that local authorities other than County Councils are asking for a similar provision. Mr Horne (Wakatipu) asked the Prime Minister if this could not be done. ' Mr Massey said that he could not answer the question at present. There had been a consolidating Municipal Corporations Bill before the House. He , was not certain whether amendments in. the desired direction could be inserted by the Legislative Council. He would have the matter looked into and if possible, a Vice,-Regal message might be brought down later, making the desired alteration.
