World Sunday School Convention resolutioned condemning racial discrimination. The resolution was designated to cover the Japanese situation. A. CHINA’S FINANCE. \ (Received this day at 9.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 14. Consortium delegates here announced they would welcome co-operation of local Chinese capital in the development of "Chiba's public enterprises, railways etc. A resolution to that effect will be communicated to Peking in order that i the Government and people may knowj the consortium will encourage such cooperation. The consortium at the present time has not any immediate loan before it. but is occupied with the organisation of the loan question which, will come up lateri possibly in the near ' future, but only upon the application of China herself. CUBAN FINANCE DISORDER. (Received this day at 11.25 a.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 14. Messages from Havana state that despite various proposals to remedy the financial situation in Cuba, business remains at a standstill. Many firms are ~ paying off -their men, because they fear / they cannot meet their pay rolls. It is feared no one will be able to pay their employees if the moratorium continues for fifty days. The drop in sugar is considered only one element in ( the situation. A large number of re- ' pudiated rice contracts and wild speculations in other commodities, notably flour, are reckoned to be factors in the situation which is considered most serious. / FALL IN COTTON. WASHINGTON, Oct. 14. The Agricultural Commissioner of Georgia has announced that the south is facing a loss of more than-five hundred million dollars, as a result of the drop in cotton prices from forty cents to less than twenty.
