(Reuter’s Telegram.! IRISH POLICY. LONDON, Oct. 18. Th Chief Secretary for Ireland, Sir Hamar Greenwood ,in a speech at Belfast, stated the Viceroy (Lord French), and Sir N. Macready (police head), and himself were in complete accord in their policy in Ireland. He declared no resignations were impending. The Government intended to proceed with its Home Rule Bill. It was prepared to enlarge it in the most generous way it thought possible in tho hope of. securing a complete final settlement. He said they could not tolerate a national independence, either for the whole or for only part of Ireland. Sir Hamar Greenwood further stated that the police in Ireland would be further increased by as many thousand as were considered necessary or the purpose of suppressing the Irish agitation. He added that it had also been decided to organise a force of speciaL constables.
