She is the first lady architect in Australia. COAL TRIMMERS TROUBLE. SYDNEY, Oct. 13. Coal trimmers at Newcastle are initiating harrassing strikes against oversea vessels. It is understood the idea was evolved at the recent transport conference. Trimmers notify agents that they will work interstate vessels, and those not engaging labour at employment bureau in preference to overseas vessels, and furthermore, will work only till four on oversea vessels. Island steamers are already considerably inconvenienced. POLITICAL. PERTH, Oct. 13. The Legislative Council read a second time a Bill reintroduced enabling women to qualify for Parliament.
