London advises that mails were despatched for New Zealand on the 7th inst. per “S.S. lonic” via Panama. A meeting of Rimu cricketers will he held in the Town Hall, Rimu, on Wednesday, Oct. 13th at 8 o’clock.—Advt. Mr P. Purcell who .was severely injured in the bush at Wataroa on Friday week is making satisfactory progress in Westland Hospital.
