AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION

The usual monthly meeting of the above Association was held on Saturday 9th. Oct. at 8 p.m. There were present Messrs G. Davidson (Chairman), Seale, Ford, Simpson, Robinson and Perham. The meeting resolved that the Secretary communicate with the Westland County Council drawing attention to repairs required to roads and bridges in different parts of the district. As there will be a large traffic on the roads now for the next six months, it was deemed advisable to endeavour to have urgent repairs done as early as possible. The matter of a large quantity of benzhie arriving for the local members was discussed, and it was decided to leave the matter of its distributon to the Secretary, to see to its disposal. The Chairman (Mr Davidson) welcomed Mr Ford, a. new member to the meeting and replying to the welcome Mr Ford gave an interesting account of good work done by other Associations lie had been connected with in other parts. His interesting remarks showed conclusively what can be obtained by hearty co-operation, even with a small beginning. Other various matters being dealt with, the meeting closed at 9,30 p.m.
