NOTICES OF MOTION. WEDNESDAY, OCT. 13. 1— The Chairman to move:—“That the accounts for the month of September, 1920, as revised and recommended for payment by the Finance Committee, amounting to £ he passed for payment.” 2 The Chairman to move:—“That the Council authorise the erection of a shelter shed at the junction of Waitaha village road and the main south road, for the convenience of passengers and goods, trasported by the main road traffic.’ ’ 3 The Chairman to move: —“That the Government be urged to have the necessary surveys made and reports prepared for the utilisation of suitable swamp lands for settlement in Westland.” . 4Cr Morel to move: —“That Overseer Millner bp instructed to have any necessary prospecting tracks cut at Mt Camelback to facilitate coal prospecting operations.” SPECIAL MEETING. (To sit pt p.m.) I—The Chairman to prove:—“That in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it on that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Westland County Council hereby resolves as follows: —That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £450 authorised to be raised by the Westland County Council under the above mentioned act for Petersen road extension Inter-Wanganui District, the said Westland County Council hereby makes and levies a special rating area comprising Sections 901, 902, 2250, Block I, Poerua S.D.; Sections 2829, 2830, M.O.L. 806, M.O.L. 1576,,810ck IV, Wat area S.D.; Sections 2248,2252, 2255, M.O.L. 672, Block IV, Wanganui S.D.; and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and bp payable yearly on the Ist day of Oct. in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

2 The Chairman to move:—“That in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it, in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loan Act, 1913, the Westland County Councih hereby resolves as follows:—That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan o^ - £759 authorised to he parsed by the County Council under the above mentioned Act, for Petersen Road further extension, Inter-Wanganui district, the said Westland County Council, hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and fifteen sixteenths of a penny upon the rateable value of all valuable property of the Special Rating Area comprising Sections 901, 902, 2250 Block I, Poerua S.D; Sections 2829, 2830, M.O.L. 860, M.O.L. 1576, Block IV, Wataroa S.D.; Sections 2248, 2252, 2255, M.O.L. 672, Block IV Wanganui S.D, and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the Ist of October in cacli and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.” 3 The Chairman to,.move: —“That in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Westland County Council hereby resolves as follows:— I That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £405 authorised to be raised by the Westland County Council under the above mentioned Act for La. Fontaine Creek clearing, Inter-Wan-ganui district, the said Westland County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-sixteenths of a penny upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Special Rating Area comprising Lot 1 of Section 169, 169, 2247, 2246, 2250, 2254, 2257, 901, 902, 2251, 146, 2256, 2260, 2259, M.O.L. 1404, Block I, Poerua S.D.; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the Ist day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years,..or until the loan is fully paid off.”

SPECIAL MEETING. (To sit at 4 p.m). I—jfhe Chairman to move:—“That pursuant to public notice given, the tho Council now confirms the resolution cf the Westland County Council adopted on tho 14th day of September, 1920, ns follows, viz:—That pursuant to the provisions of Section 3 of the Local Bodies Act, 1913, the sanction .of the ratepayers of the County of Westland be obtained (as provided by Section 8 and following of the aforesaid Act), for the raising of a special loan not exceeding £3,000 for the purchase of road making machinery to include a motor lorry, a portable stono crushing plant and elvator, and al road roller, to bo used in connection with the constructing and establishing of public works within the County of Westland; the poll of the ratepayers to he taken throughout the County of Westland, on Wednesday the 10th day of November, 1920; that a special rate not exceeding nine-fourteenths of a farthing in the pound, capital rateable value be the proposed security for the repayments of the loan; the said loan to be repaid in ten years in half-yearly instalments of £l5O each, payable in March and September of each year, together with accrued interest; and a statement bo published that it is proposed,to pay tho said half-yearly payments and accrued interest thereon, out of the County Fund Account; and further that it is not proposed to levy the said special rate which is to be struck formally as the required security in terms of the borrowing powers of the Council under the statutory provisions.
