WHARF TROUBLE ENDS
WORK RESUMED AT 1 P.M. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 5. The wharf trouble is over. A compromise suggested at the conference, of the Executive of the Union and representatives of shipowners was adopted, and work on the waterfront was resumed at one p.m. After a number of men were secured or the Calm, a general call for sea boats was made simultaneously, . and there was a ready response, an abundince of labour offering. There was a wild cheer when the call or labour was general. There wore no scenes, everything being quiet and orderly.
