THE HUNGER STRIKERS. (United Service Telegrams). Received this day at 2.36 p.m.,) LONDON, September 28/ The “Daily Mail’s” special correspondent in Cork visited the hunger strikers gaol. The authorities are leaving them solely pnder the care of nuns. No officials or strangers have •been admitted since the prisoners objected to their attentions. Each man is In a separate ward!. Government has ordered that no expense be spared with every possible arrangement for their comfort. The prison doctor declares the skilful nursing of nuns is the only explanation for the extraordinary condition of the hunger strikers, some of whom may last for months. The doctors assert the experience of these patients shows the body has a reserve energy sufficient to sustain life 'for an indefinite period, like an hibernating animal.
