ANNUAL MEETING.
The 15th. annual -meeting of shareholders was held in lie County Chambers on Saturday afternoon, Mr Ward, chairman of Directors, presiding over a fair attendance of shareholders. The minutes of.the last annual meeting were read and confirmed. DIRECTORS REPORT.
The following report was read: The Directors have great pleasure in again being able to announce a most successful, year’s operations. Though the amount of butter manufactured fell short of the previous year’s output by about Item 10cwt yet the amount received by suppliers for butter-fat is higher. The butter found a ready sale locally, and that sent to the cool stores, Wellington for the Imperial Government, was always graded Ist grade. The -.-r.-nt of milk sent by suppliers to the Factory for the season reached a. total of 499,460, and of cveair suppliers are all now installing separators, it means that no more milk will be treated at the factory. Butter-fat from cream and milk sent in amounted to 100,5311b5, and from this ”20,214 or 53tons 13cwt. lqr. 101bs. of butter wap manufactured. Of the butter made, 34,9441b5. were sold to the Imperial Government and 71,2081bs to local merchants. Our late Manager, Mr Cameron, after having been in the employ of the Arahura Daily Coy., since it’s'start, some 14 years ago, resigned at the close of the last season. He proved a capable and efficient Manager, and manufactured a uniformly good class of butter. A great deal of the success achieved by the-Arahura Dairy Factory Coy. is due to his efforts. The Directors wish him success in his new sphere of labour. Mr Meliany, a returned soldier, has been appointed in the place of Mr Cameron, and the Directors take this, opportunity of extending a hearty welcome to our midst. The sum of £1 042 19s 10d stands at the credit of the Factory in the Bank of New Zealand The Directors recommend a dividend of 6% be paid shareholders, amounting to £92/12/9, and that a ui- | ther payment of 2 l-5d per lb. o , butter-fat amounting to £921/11 /-> e paid suppliers. As Is fid per lb. has ' been paid out during the season sup- ! pliers will thus receive Is 8 l-5d per lb. , The Directors retiring by- rotation are .Messrs McGuigan, G. Perry and J. Bradley. These are eligible for re-elec-tion as is the Auditor, Mr A. B. King, b The balance sheet showed the receipts 'from sales during last season totalled ! £10,198 17s. 11, while there was paid 'to suppliers for butter fat £7550/11/6, jand bonus and dividend.£l3s6 10s 9d ( The working expenses totalled ! £1033/13/6; other expenses and cash in ' hand £1042/19/10, bringing the total to £ll 143/13/8.
