THE PRINCE’S TOUR. (Received This Day at 8 a.m.) ; ROSEAU, (Dominica) Sept. 27

H.MIS. Renown, with the Prince of Wales aboard arrived hero to-day from St. Lucia. The Prince was warmly welcomed by Sir Edward Merewether (Governor), officials and the native population and re-embarked the same evening for Montserrat.

LABOUR REQUEST. (Received this day at 11.30. a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 27. The transport leaders have circularised affiliated unions requesting further powers on the ground that the coal crisis is by no means over and that positive action of a strike character may face them during the present week.

BIG FLOOD DAMAGE. (Received this day at 12.25 p.m) LONDON, Sept. 27. Reports from the Contnent state Widespread devastation was caused by floods in Switzerland, northern Italy, Upper Rhine and Rhone- Valleys. Many bridges were destroyed. Lakes Maggiore and Como overflowed and the towns of Liguria, and Como were partially submerged. There are heavy losses of property in the submerged area. HUNGARIAN POLICY. (Received This Day at 12.20 p.m.) BUDAPEST, Sept. 27. The Hungarian National Assembly passed .drastic anti-Jewish legislation, providing, that only a limited number of Jews be admitted to the universities and referring to Jews as being a separate nationality. In the course of a debate, the Minister of Education declared his intention, to drive the Jews into the Zionist camp. The correspondent says the Bill appears to be a distinct breach of the Peace Treaty, but it is apparently only a. prelude to a more sweeping anti-Jewish policy.
