POLISH OPERATIONS

There have been other operations and reports of general Polish activity, including advances and pursuits, occupation of towns and taking of 2,500 prisoners.
SHOCKING CONDITIONS. (Received This Day at 12.20 p.m.) HELSINGFORS, Sept. 22.
It is reported that fires are raging m many places in Russia. Tens of thousands of people :are homeless in the I'dvirpiqeqts 8 f Tver, Jqrislav, Cogtrojnn Vjadimjr, Moscow, Riasan, Archangel, Vplpgda, nfld Viatka, gnd also the suburbs of Petrogrftd, 150 people perished in Vologda, and three hundred in Saratov, where twenty-five thousand are homeless.’ Reports from Moscow state Turkish pirates are active in the Black Sea, stopping ships and carrying arms and ammunition to Wra.ngel s forces.
