LYNCH’S DEATH.

London, se P t. 22

A porfer employed at thg Royal Exchange Hotel jn Gubjjp states that the person who killed Lynch stated they were military. They demanded to see the hotel registrar. Then they went to Mr Lynch’s room. Later on the police called at the hotel for the body of Lynch. They said the military had instructed them to get it. Later information states that no shots Were heard, this suggesting that Lynch was either stabbed or bayonetted.

It is no\y officially asserted that tho party of military and pplicp went to the hotel for the purpose of arresting Mr Lynch. He is alleged to have fired a revolver when they entered his room. The bullet is stated to have struck a wall. One member of the party returned the fire and shot Lynch through the head.

ANOTHER MURDER. LONDON, Sept. 22. An unknown man was found murdered jn a corn field at Borr}s, Carlow, with a label attached tq his clothing, reading: .!(Spies and informers, beware!”

FIGHT IN CLARE. LONDON, Sept. 22, News from Clare shpw a number of Sinn Feincrs and soldiery have been killed in a conflict. It is stated a number of armed men ambushed a military lorry. It contained a force of tho troops known as ‘tAuxiliary” police, and was in jVtilltown Malboy. The Sinn Feiners killed four of the tropps. Other

troops rushed to the scene and engaged in a desperate affray. Another soldier was killed, and a number were wounded. The extent of the casualties of the Sinn Feiners is not yet known,
