In recognition of the gift of numer- j ous war trophies sent out to tho Dominion, says a London correspondent, the New Zealand Government has presented to the Imperial War Museum, at the Crystal Palace, three life-size figures representing various branches of the New Zealand forces. The figures are made of papier maclie, and represent an Infantryman, with a rifle and full pack, an Artilleryman, and a dismounted member of the Mounted Rifles. The floods on Wednesday in Canterbury upset the arrangements for a wedding at the Anglican Church at Mackenzie. The bride’s home was in the vicinity of Tormore, about ten miles from the church, and when the time for the ceremony drew near the roads to the township were found to be sq badly flooded as to be impassable ,fo r car traffic, After about three hours’ delay, a special license was obtained, and the ceremony was carried iput at the bride’s residence.
