A correspondent of the Westport paper writing from Blenheim concerning the West Coast v. Marlborough football match last Saturday, says:— “It was a great game, with the issuo always in doubt. Marlborough had the best of the game taking it all through, as the many force downs by the Coast will show. Had it not been for Phillips being up to concert pitch, J. Steele would have scored on several occasions. Comparatively, Steele was a novice, on tlie day. Phillips’s performance was, without a doubt, one of the best, if not the best, ever witnessed in Marlborough 1 —I never saw a better. He was the idol of the crowd. The Marlborough forwards were superior to the Coast pack, otherwise they were a fairly even lot.” ‘ ' I Tlie finest FLUID MAGNESIA is ' SHARTjAND’S. More freshly made than imported kinds.
