COUNCIL OF CHURCHES. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 21

The Council of Churches passed resolutions expressing pleasure at the determination of the Legislative Council to introduce legislation which will prevent abuses occasioned by the Ne Temere decree reference to mixed marriages, and also hope that the clause proposed in the Bill to amend the Marriage Act, would be passed by the House of Representatives in a form that will conserve the rights and liberties of all denominations.
