If he does nob succeed in obtaining a release from business ties, Hitch will sail by a later boat. Hitch’s fielding in the latter half of the season proved him the greatest forward short leg in England. He dismissed many batsmen with wonderful catches close in, regardless of the ball’s speed and displayed extraordinary daring in anticipation.
