Mr Seddon (Westland) urged ip the House that increased timber stacking accommodation should be provided. Six mills were held, up at Kumara for lack of this accommodation. Hokitika and Qreymoutli also required assistance in this respect, Another V est Coast need was increased siding facilities on the railways. Mr Seddon mentioned that jn the past it had been the custom for clergymen of all denominations to use railway jiggers to reach outlying settlements, He was informed that these jiggprs were now being charged for. An enlarged railway station was badly needed at Greymouth. He invited Mr Massey to visit the district and see for himseif what the West Coast needed.
