THE COUNCIL The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. It commenced n discussion on Hon. Gow’s motion—“ That in the opinion of the Council it would he against public interest to allow the Legislative Council Act 1914 to he brought into operation, thereby making a drastic change in constitution of Dominion at a time when there are many urgent political and social problems pressing for solution, and that Government be requested 'o take steps to have legislation passed this session to given effect.” Hon. Triggs seconded the motion, the .debate being continued by Sir Hall Jones, Hon. Izard, Colien and Sir F. D. Bell. The debate was adjourned till to-morrow. TSiE HOUSE.
