NEW YORK, September 14. Addressing a Californian delegation at Marion, in Ohio State, Senator Hardin (Republican candidate for the Presidency) said he believed that the Oriental racial question on the Pacific coast created friction. “It must be recognised,” he said, “that the nation owes it to the Pacific coast States to stand behind, them in all necessary measures, consistent with' the national honour to relieve this difficulty.” Senator Harding said that Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the Argentine, and Siberia may all become a menace to the 'American agricultural producers, with cheaper wheat, corn, and meats. “And thus, ho added, “a full protective tariff for these industries in essential for the United Spates. _ EMPIRE CONFERENCE.
