A special meeting this evening of the Dominion Executive of New Zpajapd Catholic recorded thp following emphatic protest against the clause inserted in the Marriage Bill by the Legislative Council:— The resolution gave as one reason for the protest: “Seeing that, according to the best legal authority, this amendment would penalise the . Churchfor teaching her doctrine on the sacrament of matrimony.” The meeting affirmed that it “offered, its loyal support to the Archbishop and Bishops of New Zealand in the sfancj they are taking tq resist this interference with religious liberty-”
