IRISH MAGISTRATES RESIGN. LONDON, September 11. The Dublin City Council Magistrates have resigned in a. body as a protest against the Government’s Irish policy. They adopted a resolution praying 1 - that the Government be granted .wisdom to avert the widening breach by allowing McSweeney to die. Five hundred recruits from England have arrived in Dublin to join the Irish, police. MASSES FOR McSWEENEY. (Received this day at 8 a.m.) DUBLIN, Sept. 11. Trams stopped for two hours on Saterday, to enable tramway men to attend mass for McSweeney. HUNGER STRIKERS. (Received this day at 8 a.m.VUy LONDON,. Sept, 10. A majority of the hunger strikers at at unconscious. It is reported in pursuance of their recent request, that the prison doctors have ceased to attend them. Nuns from : local converts take turns at the bedside,— RE-ARMING CONSTABULARY. (Received this day at 8 a.m.) , LONDON, Sept. 12. The “Sunday Times” says the re-arm ing of the Irish Constabulary with the latest armjy weapons and powerful revolvers, is well-advanced. Police engaged in dangerous duty are provided with steel bodyguards under their tunics.
