IRON WORKERS. SYDNEY, September 9. The N.S.W. Iron Trades Employees Unions have issued an appeal to the watersiders for assistance in their tight for the abolition of Saturday work. The ironworkers assistants Union : s asking the Minister of Labour, to prosecute certain employees claiming to be members of their union who winked on Saturday last.
FEDERAL LABOUR PARTY. MELBOURNE, September '9. - A meeting of the Federal Labour Party was held to-day, and it appointed Mr T. P. Ryan to the Assistant Leader c-f the Party along with Mr Tudor.
CROP PROSPECTS. SYDNEY, Tliis Day. As a result of further helpful rains since the drought broke, stock reports throughout the State with a few exceptions are of the most heartening character. Feed and water is plentiful and stock is rapidly recovering condition. Re-stocking is progressing satisfactory. Shearng reports indicate the wool is somewhat tender and dirty, owing to the long continued dry spell that preceded the rain. Reports from the agricultural areas are equally cheering. 'The wheat outlook is most promising and an excellent yield .is anticipated in many areas, if the.'favourable weather continues.
