Emergency Mcßae 7.5. Average weight 7.10. WANGANUI BEATEN. TIMARU, September 2. South Canterbury defeated 'Wanganui by 8 to 6 on the Caledonian -grounds. The weather was fine and the ground fast. There was a good attendance. In the first spell Ross scored twice for Wanganui and Taylor and Storey each one for South Canterbury, Scott converting one. There was no score in the second spell. It was a lia/rd game. The Wanganui Captain (Cowie) was taken to' the hospital with slight concussion. He is expected to be all right in the morning.
