DERBYSHIRE PLATE. (Per Press Association.) LONDON, September 1. Abbot’s Trace (Donoghue) beat Spion Kop (Frank Bullock) in the Derbyshire Three-year-old Plate; There were only two runners. To-day's race was regarded as an exercise gallop for Spion Kop. Abbot’s Trace led for half a mile .wh'efre Spion Kop lieadJed him, but inside the distance Abbot’s TfWe challenged, and won a desperate race by the shortest head. Abbot’s Trace caused a sensation in the 1920 Derby by leading to the distance where he fell through Saichedon’s interference.
