Ideal weather favoured the one-day Spring Meeting of the Marton races. There was a large attendance and big entries. The going was a trifle holding. The tote receipts were £33,858 compared with £30,777 for the corresponding one day meeting two years ago. HURDLES—Otaura Kid 1, Diamond Nap 2, Master Boris 3. Won by half a lepgth. Time 2.56. HACK PLATE—Militaire 1, Prodigal 2, Pakareka 3. Won by a neck. Time 1.15. HACK STEEPLECHASE— Ngokoanui 1, Kurnalpi 2, Jacaranda 3. Won by two lengths*. Time 4.10 2-5. MARTON HANDlCAP—Classification I, Depredaion 2, Marqueter 3. Won by two lengths. No time taken. EANGITIKEI STEEPLECHASE: Mattock 1, Gaekwar 2, Wirokino 3. Time 6.40. ELECTRIC HACK—Rouen 1, Crucelle 2, Flight Commander 3. Won by a length. Time 1.17 2-5. RAILWAY . HANDICAP.—Nursing Sister 1, Tirana 2, Matatna 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.17 2-5. T'UTANEKI HACK WELTER—Duo 1, Warrawee 2, Piro Piro 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.33.
