GREYMOUTH, Sept. 1. The football match Grey v. Marists, played to-day resulted in. a runaway victory for Marists by 38 points to 6. For the winners the score was made tip of twelve tries, only one being converted, while the Grey score consisted of a try and a penalty goal.
VARSITY MATCH. - DUNEDIN, Sept. 1. At Carisbrook to-day Sydney University defeated Otago University by 45 to ]() in the presence of about GOOO spectaitors. It was a fast attractive game, but in the second spell the local team were absolutely outclassed by the visitors’ fast backs, notably Lawton, Raymond and Farquahr. At half-time Otago was 10 to nil, but in the second spell the vistors scored at the rate of exactly a point a minute.
