WEST COAL RUGBY UNION
The weekly meeting of the above Union was held at Greymouth last night. . It was resolved that a copy of the New Zealand Rugby Union insurance scheme be sent to the sub-union and Southern Division, asking them to place same before the various clubs and let the local Union know the result as early as possible, this union urging the acceptance of the submitted scheme. The following arrangements were made for the visit of West Coast to Marlborough to contest the ' Seddon Shield: Team leaves Greymouth; on Monday, Sept. 13th for lleefton; stay in Reefton for training two days; leave for Marlborough in time to. arrive Thursday night; play Marlborough September 18th; Play Bayswater Union at Motueka on Monday, Sept. 20th; play Nelson Union, Sept. 22; proceed to Westport to play Buller on Saturday Sept. 25th; arrive home on Monday Sept. 27th. This itinerary is to be submitted to the Inangahua Sub-Union to interview Newman Bros, asking them I to make the necessary arrangements. In order to make a final selection of the team to go to Marlborough it 'was decided to ask the Inangahua sub-un-ion to send a rep team to Greymouth on Saturday Sept. 11th. to play the Grey rep. team. In reply to a letter from - the Inangahut sub-union .asking that they be allowed a selector for the team to play Marlborough, it was resolved to inform them that the request was agreed to, and asking them to send a selector to. Greymouth next Saturday to witness the Marists v. Coast match, and also to attend the game on Sept, lltlr between Greymouth and Inangahua, when a final selection will be made. The Secretary reported that two Reefton Rugby enthusiasts had promised to donate £5 each towards the Marlborough trip expenses, and he expressed' the hope that Greymouth sports would follow this good example. : The following team will represent the ‘ West Coast in Saturday’s match with the Christchurch Marist ClubOs- ! borne, Cally, Russell, C. McElwee, j Markham, Nelson, Meharry, A. McL- [ wee- Bowman, Wylie, O’Regan, Hall, Chapman, Mclntosh and Deere.
