WELLINGTON Sepf. 1. Hon. W. D. S. Map Donald, leader of the Liberal Paity in Parliament died suddenly at his home, Kelburp, shjortly before mJditight. The sudden death of the Hon. W. D. S. MacDonald removes one of the leaders of political thought in the Dominion. He ha® filed many positions in the Government of the country, being Minister of Agriculture, and Mines in the National Government. After tho last general election following the dissolution of the National Cabinet, and the defeat of Sir Joseph Wan}, Hop, I\JrMacDonald was elected as Leader pf the Liberal Party. For some months past be has been in indifferent health, but lately had apparently recovered sufficiently to again take hip seat in the House.
