Mil BUXTON SUCCESSFUL. (Received This Day at 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 25. Mr Buxton has returned from Melbourne. having successfully completed negotiation with the Commonwealth for a removal of the embargo on the importation of New Zealand potatoes into New South Wales. To-night he was the guest of the Chief Secretary and Minister of Agriculture at dinner.

The Coroner’s jury Inquiry into Hurstville railway collision found the wrong signal was given through defective lighting in the railway yard; also that the driver of the second train knew the signal was irregular, and should have notified the signalman before attempting to shunt. The jury expressed the further opinion that the safety work of the. Department was very lax.
Mr Storey lias announced the Labour candidate, Air Clear, the runner-up in the Murray electorate will he appointed to the vacancy caused Iby Mr Beeby’s resignation, after the censure debate has -concluded.
