A CRICKET MATCH. LONDON, August 24. Surrey beat Yorkshire at the Oval by 32 runs. It whs one of the best games of the season. Surrey led in tlie ( first innings by 74 and scored freely to-day trying for on outright win, which appeared unlikely. Two of the team for Australia, Wilson and Rhodes then went on at 56 to keep the runs down. The result was a triumph for the slow bowling. Wilson’s accurate leg breaks ■and_ Rhodes’ faultless length breaking both ways kept the hatting at a standstill (for nearly an hour in which five l Wickets fell for no runs. The innings realised Yorkshire in the second innings tailed off badly for 153. The veteran Hirst Was top score in their first innings with 81 made in great style.
