The Trade Union Congress launched a proposal which will have the effect of maintaining a settled policy of sabotage, in the event of furtner deportations. The organisation of the scheme is'based on the One Big Union constitution, the unions being grouped according to the various industries in which members are engaged. The principal weapon will be the go-slow strike Shop Committees will lx* formed in every place of business where action is required, which will be by vote of the delegates of the various unions, tlie reduction of the output to continue until the matter is decided by Congress delegates. It was dociled that if warships were used for deportation that all workers refuse employment in any capacity on the vessels, and the distribution of propaganda literature among the crews. Printing trade. employees will refuse to handle matter for newspapers concerning the fight, which is -not regarded by Unions as accurate!

Government’s intentions respecting tlie Murray vacancy in the State Assembly is causing interest in political circles, in the absence of machinery to conduct bye-elections. The progressives contended that they are entitled to fill Mr Beeby’s seat. It is stated that Government favours introducing legislation providing that the runner-up it a general election shall fill the vacancy in all cases of bye-elections. Tlie Murray runner-up is a Labour candidate, who if elected will definitely assure Government of a majority. No action is likely until the censure motion s finished.
