The decision of the Federal Government with regard to the control of Maitland (New South Wales) coal, is a spfious one for 'Npw Zealand. He asked Mr Hughes to see that New Zealand supplies were not interfered with. ARBITRATION COURT. WELLINGTON, August 20. A representative Labour deputation, waited upon the Minister of Labour to-day in connection with Arbitration Court matters. The deputation, which was introduced by Mr P. Fraser, M.P. protested against the delay in the Arbitration Court sittings in the chief con tres, and also against the delay in giving a decision in respect to the cost of living bonus. Objection w'as taken to the fact that the President of the Court frequently sat on the Supreme Court bench, instead of giving priority to the work of the Arbitration Court. It was admitted that the Court was overworked, and the deputation suggested that the situation could be overcome if furRegistrar. Sir AVm. Herries in reply said that be would make representations to the Minister of Justice regarding the Flashing of the work of tlie Arbitration and Supreme Courts. The matter of providing clerical assistance for the Registrar was one that could easily be rectified if {inquiries showed a need for such action. ALLEGED FORGED WILL. DUNEDIN, August 20. Senior-Detective Kemp to-day arrested at Opliir, William Charles Pitches, hotel-keeper; Hugh McAllister, stock inspector, and William White Latimer, on a charge of having in June last uttered a will purporting to be that of the late George Reaper, of Opliir, who died in Cromwell Hospital in Juno last. The will, it is alleged, was forged in favour of William White, one of the accused. The men were brought before the Court at Opliir and liberated on bail.
