NEW YORK, August 16. Resolutions denouncing the British Government and Mr Lloyd George for refusing to allow Dr Mannix to enter Ireland were carried at a mass meeting of 15,(XX) in Madison Square Garden on Sunday night. A meeting of 5000 at Montreal also denounced the British authorities attiji do in vigorous terms. ROME, August 16. It is alleged that, on the ground that the Church does not desire political political martyrdoms, the Pope has wir. ed to Dr Mannix advising him not to attempt to land in Ireland.
