POLLARD’S PICTURES.
MONDAY. On Monday next at the Princess Theatre, Pollards will present Clara Kimball Young and her own company n “The Road Through the Dark.” Clara Kimball Young has been a filn favourite since the palmy days when Vitagrap'n was the one big firm making pictures, and “Broncho Billy” Anderson was the universal screen favourite. She came to Vita graph from vaudeville, and her success on the screen was instantaneous. “The Road ’I hrough the Dark” will easily rank as Miss Young’s best performance. Never has she seemed so lovely as in this picture—never bas she seemed so beautifully dramatic —never has her art shown to such brilliant advantage. A really great drama. None understood her when she gave herself to a man without honour. Nor when she fought her way back through te dark, and sought once again the love of the man she once had dishonoured through her acts. It is a superb, brilliant, compelling. On Wednesday next, a big Australian Production “The Hayseeds at the Melbourne Cup” will be Pollard’s star attraction.
