FOOTBALL.

SOUTHERN division.

The meeting of the Southern Division was held on Monday evening, Mr A. H. Lawn presiding. The following delegates were present—D. Dowell, A. Cutbush, V. Bonar, A. Dowell, D. Dec, H. Marker, E. C. Tookey, and' FA Heenan (Secretary). Mr W. A. Berry was absent owing to sickness. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed and outward correspondence approved. The inward correspondence was reau and received. Mr Ciitbush moved that tho date submitted, August 28th. for Greym.mth to play Southern Division be accepted and that the fixtures for that day be put on one week. Seconded by Mr Toohey and carried.

The Excelsior Club protested 10 Casey (United . ani.Kumara. player). The chairman explained that ho had written to Grey pointing out to them that the transferring of Casey without 'jommunieating with the Southern Division did not meet with approval of he Southern Division.

Mx* Bonar supported the chairman. Mi* A. Cutbush and Mr Heenan also supported. Mr Toohey moved that the Southern Division write to W.C.R.U., >nd explain that the Southern Division have a. motion on their Iwoks strictly stopping all transfers after June 10, 1920, amf that the Division strongly resent the action taken bv the W.C.R.U. re this transfer of Casey, or any member to this Division. Agreed to. The result, of this match next came up for discussion. Mr Cutbush moved that the match - Kumara v. Excelsiors be awarded to .Excelsiors, Mr Casey’s transfer being illegal. Seconded by Mr Bonar. - Mr A. Lawn moved an amendment that W.C.R.U. be recommended to order the match Excelsiors v. Kumara to be replayed. Seconded by Mr A. Dowell and carried. Mr Harker supported this amendment also. The voting was for 4, gainst 4. The chairman gave his casting vote for the amendment, and declared it earned Mr A.Lawn moved that a copy of all correspondence dealing with Casey’s transfer be forwarded to the Southern Division. Seconded by E. ML Heenan and carried.

The Manager’s report re cost of rep. team, the manager reported that the expenditure was. Cl2/-/G this being the total cost of sending the team (22 men) to Grey. The Chairman- moved that the account he passed for payment. Seconded by A. , Cutbush and carried. Referees appointed for next Saturday are:— , r T Kiwis v. Kumara at 3 p.m., Mr L. Hills. .... Ross v. Diggers 1.30 pm. Mr H. Harker. Excelsiors v. Kokntahi, 3 p.m., Mr J. Downey. , , The report was adopted and referee. approved. . „ .; The Secretary reported that the takings for Saturday’s match were £3/9/for close on 300 spectators.
