NOTICES OF MOTION
TUESDAY, AUGUST lOtli
I.—The Chairman to move:—“That the accounts presented for tlie month of July, 1920, as revised and recommended for payment by -the Finance Committee, amounting to £ , be passed for payment.” ; 2.—Cr Chesterman to move:—“That it he a recommendation to the Warden of the district to defer granting additional water rights in Westland till the proposed Electric Power Board is constituted, and has the opportunity of considering suitable l.ial sources whence to derive power.” 13.—Cr Ferguson to ‘move:—“That i the Government he urged to favorably I consider the question of a grant for the erection of a traffic bridge across the I Waiho river.” 4.—Cr Murdoch to move :—“That tlie Council extend to the lit Hon W. F. Massey, Minister of Mines, a very cordial invitation to visit the mining district of Westland as sqon as his sessional duties will permit, and that steps be taken to lay before the lit Hon Minister proposals for the promotion and development of gold-mining.”
SPECIAL MEETING. (To sit at 3 p.iii.) I.—The Chairman to move :—“That the Council now confirm the Special Order adopted on July 6th last relative to the raising of special loans (a) Petersen road extension, £450; (b) Petersen road further extension, £780; (e) La Fontaine creek clearing, £405, in accordance with the terms and special rating areas as then before the Council.”
