The death of Mr Michael Reedy, an old resident of the Kumara district, too kplace at Kumara on Friday lust. The deceased was a native of County Kerry, Ireland, and 87 years of age. He had been a resident of New Zealand for 52 years.

It is with extreme regret that we record the death of Mr AVilliam Winchester, which took place at Grey Hospital on Saturday evening. For many years deceased was headmaster of the Ross school, and he had only retired on superannuation some months ago. He had been suffering from a severe illness and tlie end was not unexpected. During his long teaching service of over 60 years, Mr Winchester lias won golden opinions, and many old scholars of the Ross school will regret to hear of tiro end of their old schoolmaster. 1 Mr Winchester was it native Of Perthshire, Scotland, and hail been teaching in Scotland and Victoria before coming to Ross wh.qre 'lip had carried on for so many years.
