When tlie s.s. Tahiti arrived at Auckland from Sydney, a couple of young men were handed over to the police ns stowaways. Johnson said he was a sailor, and had fallen asleep while resting. waking up to find, that the ship had sailed. He wanted to get work on a ship sailing to America, lie said. As the ship did not desire the defendants as an addition to the crew, they were remanded in custody, pending an arrangement with tlie shipping company to take them hack to Sydney.
