A new trade agreement between Canada and West Indies provides, inter alia, that the present mutual preference of twenty per cent he increased by fifty. Tile free list is extended, and a weekly steamship service between Caniicjian ports and the eastern group of Indies is'to be provided; also a fortnightly service with the western group. The various Governments are to contribute the necessary subsidies. The eastern service will start not later than January Ist, and the western as soon as possible. The agreement is for ten years, subject to approval of the Canadian Parliament and Indies legislatures, and Secretary of State for the Colonies.
